FAQs

How Steamy/Spicy Are your Books?

I write sweet romance, which means there is no on-page intimacy. Characters may kiss and there will definitely be some tension between some characters, but no graphic descriptions of intimacy. Why? Because I don’t like reading spice, so I don’t want to write it. I love plenty of books that have spice in them, but I always skim it for any important emotional beats or plot points that might be slipped into a spicy scene. If I’m being honest, I find spice boring. ;p

Hopefully, if you’ve found me and my books, you are a reader like me. ❤

What Order Should I Read Your Books?

How Can I Get an ARC (Advanced Reader Copy) Of Your Book?

In the months before a book release, I post a sign-up form. Be on the look out for the form (I’ll share it in my newsletter and on social media channels). Signing up does not guarantee you an ARC, as I can only afford a certain number of ARCs per release. Readers part of the Reader Group and my Newsletter will get priority.

How Many Books Will Be in the Kaelum Series?

Currently, my plans are for 5 full length novels and 3 short stories/novellas.

Why Did You Decide to Self/Independent Publish?

I could sum this up by saying I’m a control freak, lol. I want to have final say about all decisions regarding my book, but there are plenty of other reasons too: higher royalties, time freedom, ability to decide how and when my work is put into new formats, be my own boss, make my own business decisions, get to play with excel spreadsheets (yes, again, I’m a nerd) for budgets and book production plans, get to comission my own art and choose how its used, and the list could go on, but my brain is feeling mushy.

Why Aren’t Your Books in KU?

KU is an exclusive program, which means if my books are part of that program, I cannot publish with any other ebook distributer. I take issue with exclusivity for a few reasons: 1. it isolates readers who would otherwise join our community, 2. I don’t want to “put all my eggs in one basket.” As an indie author, my income can be unstable. Leaving my livelihood to the whims (and changing rules/terms) of one big business isn’t something I’m willing to do. 3. There are other ways readers can get my books cheaply: Kobo Plus, libraries, and by following the newsletter for any random weekend sales I might run.
